For USA WBBG amateur contests:
Only those athletes who have not won cash or prizes worth more than $1000 US in any given show are eligible to compete in USA amateur events and must be citizens of the USA or registered aliens.
Regional, State and Local Competitors have no prerequisite requirements except as mentioned above.

Contestants must have placed in the top four (4) of a Local, State or Regional competition of any federation recognized by the WBBG within the last three (3) years to be eligible to enter. Contestants must be US citizens.
Only national title winners who placed in the top four (4) of their respective height/weight class in the last three (3) years are eligible.
: Contestants in local, state or regional shows can be judged in classes either by height or weight. Shows may not mix judging classes as in some groups by height and others by weight. No late contestants will be allowed to compete once their class has begun judging.

Weight Table:
- Bantamweight Under 143 lbs.
- Lightweight Over 143 to & including 154 lbs.

- Light Heavyweight Over 176 to & including 198 lbs.

Weight is measured in posing suits only and no footgear except socks or sandals/flip-flops.
The facility must meet all municipal fire and safety requirements for local, state and regional shows. National level competitions must have shower facilities and locker rooms for the contestants.
Body piercing studs or other objects must be removed prior to the prejudging and display phases. Jewelry is not allowed with the exception of wedding rings. Earrings are allowed for female fitness and figure contestants. Earrings may not be worn by male or female bodybuilders (ear studs allowed for both men/women). Posing suits shall be of a single color and non metallic in nature. If in doubt about a suit bring a backup suit.
The Judging Panel will consist of a Head Judge and at least five (5) Staff Judges for all shows other than National. National level shows require seven (7) Staff Judges. The preferred number of judges for any show is seven. High and low scores are to be eliminated with the remaining scores tallied. Contestants are ranked highest with the lowest combined score. The Head Judge may vote and is responsible for all communications between the judging panel and the contestants as well as verifying the tabulated results. In the event of any disputes the most senior WBBG official present will be empowered to make a final ruling.
Contestants in bodybuilding will be required to perform mandatory poses as a group. These include Front Double Bicep, Side Chest, Rear Double Bicep, Lat Spread (front) Lat Spread (rear), Abs and Thighs and Most Muscular. There will be a “Relax” period of at least 4 seconds before the next pose is called.
Individual Routines (Bodybuilding): Contestants will have a 60 second free posing routine in the prejudging phase. The evening show routine shall be no more than 90 seconds.
Contestants must supply their own music on a CD or cassette tape no longer than 90 seconds. The tape or CD must be cued to the beginning of the music. Vulgar lyrics are grounds for disqualification or substitution of generic music at the discretion of the WBBG.
In large classes of ten (10) or more entrants, only the top eight (8) need to be scored. The remaining contestants will be scored a nine (9).
All competitors are introduced at the finals with only the top five (5) of each class posing in the evening show. The top five (5) receive trophies and an overall trophy to the winner amongst the classes. Special awards for body parts (Most Muscular, etc.) may be presented at the discretion of the promoter and approval of the Head Judge.

WOMEN’S FIGURE:
PRE-JUDGING: TWO PIECE, SWIM SUIT ALL ONE COLOR,( non metallic) COVERING 50 % of the Gluteus Maximus. Athlete will walk out one at a time by numerical order to middle of the stage facing the judging panel and commence quarter turns presenting their physique to the Judges. Then proceed to file in a line in numerical order after the last athlete is on stage. The Head Judge will confer with the constituents on the panel and call first call-out.
Each contestant called for the call-out will line up in front of the judges facing front and the quarter turn round will go into effect. The quarter turn round will be open handed to show the physique of the individuals to the panel.
The judges may call out athletes to the front from the back relaxed line. Also the judges may confer and ask athletes
from the quarter turn line to file to the back. This is for mixed comparisons. When finished athletes will file off.
Night Show: Athletes will again come out,( in numerical order) to their desired music or if they do not have music, house music will be furnished for the athlete. Athlete will enter onto the stage under the coliseum gate walk directly toward the judging panel and have 30 seconds to show their physique to the audience. Then file off. The class will then be asked to file on stage in numerical order for quarter turns. Then award placings will be given out.
What are we looking for?
A body that is in shape.
Not too muscular.
A. No Striations
B. Not too much definition
C. No excessive cellulite.
D. A little softness is ok. Not to an excess.
E. Beauty
F. Symmetry
Hair: Should be worn up so that the judging panel can see the body.
Jewelry is Ok, not to an excess.
Shoes: High heals
Swim Suit: No metallic one color with no glitter.
WOMEN’S FITNESS
Prejudging: Same as Figure. Quarter turn rounds. Then the athletes will file off.Night Show: The Fitness athlete will come out numerically under the coliseum gate then proceed to the X on the stage and start their 90 second routine. Props are alowed. (Not to an excess). File off until the last athletes routine is over the class will be called back on quick quarter turns and awards will be given.
What are we looking for?
Athlete that is in shape:
A. Not too much muscularity.
B. Not too much muscle separation.
C. No cellulite.
D. Athleticism
Same as Figure:
Outfits may be flashy but not blinding.
